HOW TO BECOME AN APIRG WORKING GROUP
- Background
First, download the following files. (You can right-click the links and choose "Save Links as" to download them directly to your computer). They are in PDF format:
- The General Information About APIRG Funding Categories document for information about our step-by-step process and other funding categories.
- The General Assessment Guidelines to help you to construct your proposal in accordance with APIRG requirements.
- The Services that APIRG Provides document to ensure that you are aware of the range of possibilities for funding and support.
- The APIRG Honoraria Policy if the group plans to budget for this.
- Application
- Download and submit a Working Group Application.
- If you are an existing Working Group applying for further funds or support, please use the Existing Working Group Application Form
- Funding deadlines typically fall on the last Fridays of September and January. Please visit the APIRG home page for exact dates.
- Review process
- The Working Group Funding Committee, referring to the General Assessment Guidelines, assesses the feasibility and suitability of your proposal. The committee may contact the applicant(s) for clarification on key points during the review period.
- The funding committee brings their recommendations to the APIRG Board of Directors, which then approves or rejects the committee's recommendations.
- If the proposal is approved, the group will be asked to sign a Working Group Agreement, and agree to the Working Group Terms of Reference, as well as plan to attend a General Working Group Meeting. The Working Group Coordinator will contact the applicants and set up an appropriate time to sign these documents. It is a good idea to be familiar with these terms before applying for Working Group status.
- If the proposal is rejected, you may download and submit this Appeal to the board. The APIRG board will review the appeal application in a timely fashion. The Working Group Coordinator will contact the applicant(s) regarding the board’s final decision.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for the entire application, review and approval process.
Remember, you can find all of APIRG’s forms and policies in the handy forms cabinet.
For more information or for clarification of our policies and forms contact the Working Group Coordinator, Lise Wilson.
